Added Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Fueling / Charging Stations to the data.
Data was downloaded from the U.S. Department of Energy Alternative Fuels Data Center via spreadsheet format. The spreadsheet was cleaned up (column headings were edited where possible for clarity). The spreadsheet was imported into ArcMap via adding XY Data. A point dataset was created and was symbolized by access (public vs. private), as well as by fuel type.

A new update procedure was established for the Alternative Vehicle Fueling Stations GIS dataset. The data is no longer manually downloaded from the originator (DOE) and arranged as an update to the NJDEP GIS layer. Instead, the DEP now uses Python scripting to automatically load the appropriate records from the DOE's JSON site. This process is done weekly on Saturday mornings. Two new fields were added to the GIS dataset to show the NJ State Plane 1983 X and Y coordinates of the features.
The data contained within this layer represents all of the public and private fueling stations for alternative fueled vehicles in the State, downloaded from the US Department of Energy's Alternative Fuels Data Center (https://www.afdc.energy.gov/). The fueling stations shown include Biodiesel, Compressed Natural Gas, Ethanol, Electric, and Propane. In addition to showing the location of these stations, users can view details on each of the stations, including hours of operation and forms of payment accepted.
